CANADIAN POTTERY INDUSTRY.--A special to Philadelphia Press states that Mr. S. F. Glass, of London, Ont., was in that city en route to East Liverpool, Ohio, where he was to purchase machinery and models for the first Canadian pottery, which is soon to be established at London. No potters' clay has yet to be discovered in British North America except in Manitoba and the northern territory. These places, however, are too far away, and consequence people have been slow to invest money in a pottery under such disadvantages. But the fact remains that raw materials can be imported into Canada free od duty, while there is a heavy duty on manufactured goods.
