Died Yesterday.

D T Bailey owner and manager of the Star Soda Works, died at his home at the corner of Alexander and Dole streets at 7 o'clock last evening of liver trouble and dropsy, aged 57.  The funeral will take place from the late residence, under the auspices of Harmony Lodge, Odd Fellows, at 4 o'clock this afternoon.  Interment will be in Makiki cemetery.
  Deceased was born at Peacham, Vermont, and came to the Islands 22 years ago.  He was first employed as manager of the Woodlawn Dairy, and some years later purchased the Tahiti Lemonade Works.  Still later he effected a combined of small soda manufactories, forming the Consolidated Soda Water Works of which he was elected manager.  A little more than a year ago he, with two others, bought the Star Soda Works and Mr Bailey remained manager of that institution until his death.  Deceased was married about ten years ago to Hattie Lewis.  the widow and three children survive him.
