DESTRUCTIVE FIRE.-A fire broke out on Thursday night
in a small building owned and occupied by Mr. Saml.
Mass, and situated on a small alley in the rear of his
cedar ware establishment on Franklin street near Eutaw.
...... The roof of the bottling establishment of Messrs.
McKay & Clark, also took fire and considerable damage
was done by both the fire and the water, with which the
building was flooded. The stables belonging to the
firm, were also entirely destroyed, the horses
fortunately being saved before the flames reached them.
The fire is supposed to have been designedly kindled.
..... Messrs. M'Kay & Clark are fully insured in the
Baltimore and Hudson Fire Insurance Companies. The
buildings destroyed were mostly not very valuable, and
the whole loss by the fire will not be above $5000.
