A CARD.--We, the undersigned, bottlers of
Mineral Waters, Porter, Ale, Cider and Lager Beer, in
the city of Richmond, from the reckless manner in which
our bottles have been used by many of our customers,
have reluctantly been obliged to frame the following
resolution, which we are determined to enforce from this
date:
We shall charge each and all of our customers and
drivers, jointly and generally, with the bottles
delivered at the rate of 50 cts per dozen, the driver to
keep a strict bottle account and faithfully return us
the name of any party found delinquent. And we
would further appoint a certain day, say the first
Thursday of each month, for the customer and the driver
to have a settlement of the bottle account. when the
customer will be required to pay the driver at the above
rates of 50 cts per dozen for every empty bottle
missing, unless a corresponding number of full bottles
in stock can be produced to satisfy the driver's demand.
And should we find any of our drivers neglecting or
refusing to return us the name of any party when bottles
are missing he (the driver) will be obligated to pay us
the above sum of 50 cts per dozen, under pain of
dismissal.
We, the undersigned, grateful for the very
liberal patronage bestowed on us by the citizens of
Richmond, would further take the present opportunity to
return our sincere thanks to those customers who have in
times past carefully saved and returned our bottles.
To those who have not been quite so careful we would
say, make up for past delinquencies.
M. McCORMACK,
