Minor update with a clandestine purpose. Over 14,300 bottles are now listed with the addition of over 300 new bottles. Added just over 40 new or improved photos. Added a new blue pontiled soda bottle from W. Losey of New York, NY. Add one new pottery bottle supplier, Webster, Smith & Company of Halifax, Nova Scotia, and one new bottle manufacture, the unidentified D. Glass Company for the United States.  Changed the return to search page to to be more responsive. Add Cape Breton Island as a region in Nova Scotia.

All primitive stoneware bottles starting with "T," "U," and "V" are loaded. Names starting with "A" through "V" are now searchable and number 2,414 bottles.  Some of these that were previously unidentified have been matched to their city of origin.  A MAJOR MILESTONE was hit as over 14,000 bottles are now listed with the addition of over 350 new bottles.  Added just over 230 new or improved photos.  Added five new Codd bottles one from  R. Herscovice of Montreal, Quebec, a second from E. Gover of New Rochelle New York, a No. 68, a No. 74, and a License No. 7 from Codd & Company of New York City.  Add one new bottle supplier, Codd & Company of New York City, New York, one new bottle manufacture, the British Siphon Company, and two new potteries Tyler & Company and the Israel Seymour's Troy Factory, both from Troy, New York.

All primitive stoneware bottles starting with "S" are loaded. Names starting with "A" through "S" are now searchable and number 2,287 bottles.  Some of these that were previously unidentified have been matched to their city of origin.  Over 13,800 bottles are now listed with the addition of over 200 new bottles.  Added just over 100 new or improved photos.  Added a new pontiled soda marked Beaumont & Company found in Kentucky and a new Codd bottle from Thorpe & Co. Limited  of Vancouver, British Columbia.   Added four new potteries Day & Smith of Norwalk, Connecticut, Burtis P. Soper of Galesville, New York, Jacob Stier of Upper Mount Bethel Township, Pennsylvania, and Jacob Swank & Company of Johnstown, Pennsylvania.

Added 210 new or improved pictures to the site.  That makes nearly 2,700 bottles pictured or just under 1 in 5. Over 13,600 bottles are now listed with the addition of over 100 new bottles. Added a new jobber of bottles; Wittemann Brothers of New York and Buffalo, New York.  Added the "Syrup Dispenser Shape" to the list of soda bottle shapes.

Names starting with "A" through "R" are now searchable and number 1,995 bottles.  Some of these that were previously unidentified have been matched to their city of origin.  140 pictures of bottles were added or upgraded.  Over 13,500 bottles are now listed with the addition of 275 more bottles.  5 new pontiled soda bottles, a Meadows & Co. pony from Saint Catharines Ontario, a Perrin pony bottle form London Ontario and a R. Hall flavored beer from Toronto Ontario, a J. Boardman & Co soda and a J. & A. Dearborn & Co. soda, both from New York, NY; two new Gravitating Stopper bottles from S. C. Chumard of Muskegon., a C. L. Horsman Codd from Campbellford, Ontario and a Roorbach stopper bottle from Gillman of Poughkeepsie, New York were added.  Added three new glass manufacturers: Coshocton Glass Company from Coshocton, Ohio (including a photo), Olean Glass Company of Olean, New York and Samuel McKee & Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and two new potteries: Robinson-Merrill Pottery Company of Akron, Ohio and Sidney Risley of Norwich, Connecticut.  Added two new pages on on Pittsburgh glass works directory listing glass works and a second for Pennsylvania glass works directory listings.  Both are accessible via the notes page for manufacturer S. McKee & Co.  Other site improvements include making region a drop down pick list as only a few are identified and adding bookmarks to each of the manufactures sections so that they can be linked to from internal pages or external sites.

Updated the site with information obtained at the National Expo in York Pennsylvania.  Over 13,225 bottles are now listed with the addition of 50 more bottles.  7 new pontiled soda bottles, a blue Smith's Mineral & Soda Waters from Charleston, SC, a green brown stout from George Baker of Milton, PA, a light green  F. C. Kuentzler porter from Pottsville, a blue mineral water from B. & H., an aqua Bakers Mineral Water Louisville with "Wholesale Druggists" on the reverse, an aqua second variation of Lauer & Brand with Louisville on the reverse and an aqua G (Garrison) soda from Louisville, KY  were added.  A new Roobach Patent soda from J. L. Jacobs of Cairo, NY and a new Gravitating Stopper from Price & Feistel of Louisville, KY were also added.  Based on research, information on the Kentucky Glass Works and the Kentucky Glass Works Company was consolidated.  These appear to be the same firm.

All primitive stoneware bottles starting with "P" and "Q" are loaded. Names starting with "A" through "Q" are now searchable and number 1,860 bottles.  Some of these that were previously unidentified have been matched to their city of origin.  Over 80 pictures of bottles were added or upgraded.  Over 13,175 bottles are now listed with the addition of 125 more bottles.   2  new pontiled soda bottles, a M. C. Wilber pony from New York City and a new George W. Brandt soda from Carlisle, PA., were added.

All primitive stoneware bottles starting with "N" and "O" are loaded. Names starting with "A" through "O" are now searchable and number 1,732 bottles.  Some of these that were previously unidentified have been matched to their city of origin.  55 pictures of bottles were added or upgraded.  Over 13,050 bottles are now listed with the addition of 75 more bottles.   One new pontiled bottle, a Maick's porter from Reading, PA and marked with Green Banks Glass Works was added. Added one new glass manufacturer: Bottlers & Manufacturers Supply Co. of Long Island City, NY and one new pottery: The Athens Pottery of Nathan Clark Jr. of Athens, NY.

All primitive stoneware bottles starting with "M" are loaded. Names starting with "A" through "M" are now searchable and number 1,627 bottles.  Some of these that were previously unidentified have been matched to their city of origin.  108 pictures of bottles were added or upgraded.  Over 12,975 bottles are now listed with the addition of 225 more bottles. Including 3 new pontiled bottles: a beer from H. K. Madara of Battentown and two different beer bottles from Smith & McGuire of Trenton all from New Jersey.  That makes 2,230 pontiled soda and beer bottles with over 3,000 variants.  Added two new glass manufacturers: Fairmount Glass Works of Indiana and the Lancaster Co-operative Glass Works of New York, one new pottery: Thomas D. Metcalf of Sunbury, PA, and one new bottle wholesaler: Champion Stopper Manufacturing Company of Greenfield, MA.

All primitive stoneware bottles starting with "L" are loaded. Names starting with "A" through "L" are now searchable and number 1,438 bottles.  Some of these that were previously unidentified have been matched to their city of origin.  216 pictures of bottles were added.  Over 12,750 bottles are now listed with the addition of over 250 more bottles.  Including 8 new Gravitating stopper bottles: a Burbridge & Co. from Buffalo, an A. Jackson bottle from Sioux City, Iowa, and 6  from Ontario, a Bain, Trebell & Co. from London, a James Tune & Son from Simcoe, a James Vivian from Goderich, and a James Matthews, a Hugh T. Smith, and a Charles Wilson, all of Toronto.  Also added three new Canadian Codd Bottles: a Crystal Spring Mineral Water Co., and a Excelsior Bottle & Beverage Works Limited, both of Toronto and a T. Burdett of Montreal.  Added a new Floating Ball Stopper from I. L. Weil of Williamsport, PA.  Two new pontiled bottles: a beer from J. Howard and a soda from H. Sproatt, both of Toronto were added.  Updated the Soda and Beer history pages to give a time line of what the typical bottle looked like each five years covering the years when pre-crown bottles were popular.  Added "Neck Embossing" as a new classification of embossing and circle embossing as a new embossing pattern with illustrations.  Added "Canada-East" and "Canada-West" and "Error" as subcategories for searching.  Added four new glass manufacturers: Bagley & Company Limited of Knottingley, Bright & Sons of Bridlington, Foster Brothers of Saint Johns, Quebec, and Frederick Heitz of Saint Louis.

Names starting with "A" through "K" are now searchable and number 1,281 bottles.  Some of these that were previously unidentified have been matched to their city of origin.  2 new manufacturers of pottery bottles, an unknown pottery in New Berlin, Ohio and the Lawrence Krumeich pottery in Newark were documented.  85 pictures of bottles were added.  Over 12,500 bottles are now listed with the addition of over 100 more bottles.

Names starting with "A" through "I" are now searchable and number 1,158 bottles.  Some of these that were previously unidentified have been matched to their city of origin.  1 new manufacturer of pottery bottles, an unknown pottery in New Haven was documented. 1 new jobber of glass bottles, Dean, Foster & Dawley, was documented.  Over 12,400 bottles are now listed with the addition of over 250 more bottles.  Included is a newly listed early open pontiled soda marked only "C. A. S." that was found near Cincinnati, Ohio.

All primitive stoneware bottles starting with "G" are loaded. Names starting with "A" through "G" are now searchable and number 921 bottles.  Some of these that were previously unidentified have been matched to their city of origin.  4 new manufacturers of pottery bottles, William Geiger, Henry Glazier,  Goodwin & Webster, and Gunther & Berns were documented. 1 new manufacturer of glass bottles, De Stieger Glass Company, was documented.  Over 12,100 bottles are now listed with the addition of over 150 more bottles.  Included is a newly listed pontiled pony from J. Roof & Company of Hornellsville, New York.

Names starting with "A" through "D" are now searchable and number 634 bottles.  Some of these that were previously unidentified have been matched to their city of origin.  5 new manufacturers of pottery bottles; Cowden & Wilcox, Darrow & Sons, Dauffenbach, Stoeckert & Co.,  Dauffenbach & Giesecke and John Stoeckert are documented.  A new 1874 closure from Frederick Schlich is listed. Over 11,900 bottles are now listed with the addition of over 200 more bottles.

Names starting with "A" through "B" are now searchable and number 310 bottles.  Some of these that were previously unidentified have been matched to their city of origin.  Over 11,700 bottles are now listed with the addition of over 300 more bottles.  This includes 5 new North American Codd bottles submitted by David Graci; 2 from New York City, 1 from Newport, Rhode Island, 1 from Yonkers, New York and 1 from Boston Massachusetts.
