PatentsPatents document an idea that the patentee believed was unique, new and innovative. American patents were granted the patentee the exclusive rights to the contents of his patent. These patents could be for the bottles, the closures, equipment for processing beverages, or the products themselves. A bottle with a patent date embossed, impressed or etched, cannot be any earlier that the date of the patent. These patents can only be accessed when linked to a specific bottle's firm on the search pages under the "Find Bottle" menu item.
